Principal Full Stack Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Philippines.

📋 Description

• Take charge of the architecture and technical strategy for the essential platform domains utilized by both teams.

• Allocate 60–80% of your time to actively design, code, review, pair, and debug using Laravel, Next.js, and within cloud environments.

• Spearhead technical exploration and execution of impactful initiatives that span team boundaries or necessitate significant architectural adjustments.

• Establish, document, and advocate for architectural principles, coding standards, and scalable, resilient, observable system patterns.

• Promote shift-left testing, enhancements in CI/CD, production observability, test design, and validation.

• Guide and mentor senior and mid-level engineers through design reviews, collaboration, and constructive feedback.

• Assess and prototype emerging technologies such as Vertex AI, GenAI workflows, and data pipelines.

• Represent engineering considerations during roadmap planning, estimation, and trade-off discussions.

• Collaborate across both product squads on integrated systems and complex technical challenges.

• Work in partnership with Engineering Leadership on long-term architectural strategies and with Tech Leads on execution and engineering practices.

• Direct test strategy and validation; take ownership of test coverage, pipeline health, and regression control.

• Propel scalability, stability, technical alignment, engineering quality, AI readiness, and multi-cloud platform capabilities.

⛳️ Requirements

• 8+ years of experience in software engineering, with a background as a staff/principal engineer or architect in a SaaS environment.

• Profound expertise in backend engineering using Laravel (Laravel 10+ and PHP 8+) or comparable languages, SQL/relational databases, caching, and RESTful APIs.

• Strong experience in frontend design and architecture with React/Next.js.

• Experience with scalable, secure cloud infrastructure (AWS is required, along with familiarity with CGP).

• Knowledge of event-driven or modular architectures and containerized environments (e.g., EKS/Kubernetes).

• In-depth understanding of software testing strategies and CI/CD pipelines.

• Experience with Looker, BigQuery, ML pipelines, or performance tuning in distributed systems (bonus).

• Familiarity with Agent AI Architecture (bonus).

• Proficiency in feature delivery velocity utilizing Copilot, Gemini, test automation, and scaffolding.

• Experience in developing AI-enhanced product experiences, including LLM API usage and prompt design.

• Capability to coach peers on integrating GenAI into workflows.

• Strong leadership ability to influence, mentor engineers, establish standards, and share knowledge.

• A documentation-first mindset, encompassing the documentation of decisions, code, and processes.
