Principal Environmental Consultant, Planning and Assessment – ESIA

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Morocco.

📋 Description

• Deliver technical leadership for ESIA projects throughout North Africa.

• Manage intricate ESIAs in the renewables, energy, infrastructure, and mining sectors.

• Serve as the primary technical consultant for clients, regulators, and lenders.

• Engage directly with regulators, regional environmental agencies, and international financing institutions.

• Ensure project alignment with international standards (IFC PS, World Bank ESS, EBRD PRs, Equator Principles).

• Offer strategic environmental risk advice during the feasibility and concept design phases.

• Supervise the preparation, technical review, and submission of high-quality ESIA and permitting documentation.

• Lead multidisciplinary teams, guaranteeing quality, consistency, and timely delivery.

• Foster business development within the ESIA sector, including proposal leadership and client engagement.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 12 years of experience in environmental consulting, with significant ESIA leadership experience.

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in environmental management, Environmental Science, or a related field.

• Proven experience in delivering ESIAs for renewable, infrastructure, energy, and mining projects.

• Strong knowledge of North Africa and its local environmental permitting frameworks.

• In-depth understanding of international lender standards (IFC, World Bank, EBRD, etc.).

• Experience in leading large, multidisciplinary technical teams.

• Comprehensive understanding of marine modeling, cumulative impacts, and coastal processes.

• Proven ability to navigate complex regulatory and stakeholder environments.

• Demonstrated experience in business development and proposal leadership.

• Proficient in English (knowledge of Arabic and/or French is a plus).

• Willingness to travel throughout North Africa.

• Must possess a valid driver's license.
