
Principal Enterprise AI and Transformation Architect

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Identify opportunities for transformation and convert future-state process designs into technical solution architectures, prototypes, and implementation strategies.
• Oversee technical discovery and feasibility evaluations for intricate transformation projects.
• Convert business and process requirements into technical designs, effective prototypes, implementation strategies, and production solutions.
• Manage technical delivery encompassing architecture, prototyping, construction, testing, deployment, and stabilization.
• Design, configure, construct, test, and deploy enterprise AI workflows, copilots, intelligent agents, and automation solutions.
• Create agent instructions, prompts, tools, knowledge connections, APIs, guardrails, escalation mechanisms, evaluation, and monitoring systems.
• Develop reusable workflows, prompt libraries, agent patterns, connectors, templates, and components.
• Diagnose, fine-tune, optimize, and provide support for deployed solutions.
• Design and implement configurations, workflows, business rules, and data structures for enterprise systems.
• Design and build API-based and platform-based integrations across ERP, CRM, financial, project management, collaboration, operational, data, automation, and AI systems.
• Address complex technical issues related to authentication, APIs, data flows, integration logic, exception handling, automation, and AI.
• Ensure solutions align with enterprise architecture, configuration standards, integration patterns, security requirements, and change controls.
• Transition ongoing ownership of configurations and integrations to the relevant system owners.
• Create end-to-end solutions that connect business processes, enterprise systems, data, integrations, automation platforms, and AI services.
• Develop solution architecture and platform recommendations that balance scalability, security, compliance, maintainability, user experience, and total cost of ownership.
• Generate reference patterns, design artifacts, and implementation standards.
• Act as the technical lead and escalation point while actively participating in prototyping and implementation.
• Create proofs of concept and working prototypes; transform successful prototypes into production-ready solutions.
• Assess emerging capabilities in AI, automation, integration, and enterprise platforms through practical experimentation.
• Advise on whether to build, buy, configure, integrate, or phase out capabilities.
• Implement responsible AI practices, security, privacy, data-use policies, human oversight, documentation, testing, release, and support requirements.
• Establish evaluation and quality assurance methodologies for AI outputs, agent behavior, workflow reliability, and exception handling.
• Collaborate with Legal, Information Security, IT, Quality, and business stakeholders on regulatory and enterprise requirements.
• Develop standards and reusable controls to support governance and compliance.
• Prepare users, process owners, and support teams for new operational methodologies.
• Produce technical documentation and knowledge transfer plans.
• Scale successful solutions across functions by utilizing reusable patterns, components, integrations, and playbooks.
• Convey solution options, tradeoffs, progress, risks, and outcomes to executive, business, and technical audiences.
• Serve as a thought partner to the Executive Director while managing priority transformation and AI initiatives.
• Mentor managers, architects, analysts, and solution teams through collaborative design sessions, reviews, and hands-on problem-solving.
• Influence cross-functional collaboration and align business teams, IT, vendors, and implementation partners.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.
• A minimum of 8 years of experience in business transformation, enterprise systems, solution architecture, intelligent automation, systems integration, AI enablement, or consulting roles.
• Proven hands-on experience in designing, configuring, building, integrating, testing, deploying, and supporting enterprise solutions.
• Practical experience in constructing AI-enabled workflows, copilots, intelligent agents, retrieval-augmented solutions, or generative AI applications.
• Experience in configuring and integrating enterprise business systems and low-code platforms, including ERP, CRM, Microsoft Power Platform, Copilot Studio, Dynamics, Salesforce, Freshworks, or similar technologies.
• Proficiency in designing, building, and troubleshooting API-based integrations, including REST APIs, authentication, data flows, integration patterns, connectors, and event-driven processes.
• Capability to translate unclear business challenges into technical solutions, functional prototypes, and production implementations.
• Experience in designing human + AI workflows, prompts, tools, guardrails, evaluation methods, exception handling, and operational support models.
• Ability to transition seamlessly between executive strategy, workshop facilitation, architecture, configuration, development, testing, deployment, and support.
• A portfolio or examples showcasing personally delivered AI, automation, integration, or enterprise system solutions is strongly preferred.
• Excellent skills in executive communication, facilitation, documentation, presentation, and stakeholder management.
• Experience in executing cross-functional initiatives within regulated or enterprise environments.
• Preferred experience in life sciences, healthcare, GxP, SOX, or other similarly regulated environments.
• Preferred certifications in enterprise architecture, cloud, Microsoft technologies, AI, automation, Lean, Six Sigma, or related fields.
• Occasional travel may be required for meetings, training sessions, and conferences.
• Bachelor's degree in information systems, computer science, engineering, operations, pharmaceutical sciences, or a related field.
• A Master's degree in information systems, computer science, engineering, operations, pharmaceutical sciences, or a related field is preferred.
• Advanced certifications in enterprise architecture, cloud, automation, or AI are a plus.
