
Principal Engineer, Tech Lead – Integrations & APIs

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Take ownership of the complete technical vision for the Integration team and its associated services, from the initial idea through implementation, iteration, and long-term development.
• Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders to convert unclear product and business objectives into tangible technical strategies, architectures, and execution plans for the Integration team.
• Write production code, establishing benchmarks for design quality, code quality, and operational excellence.
• Make key architectural decisions for scalable backend systems that achieve a balance between speed, reliability, maintainability, extensibility, and operability.
• Lead execution across numerous simultaneous projects and initiatives, proactively identifying risks, dependencies, and trade-offs, and assisting the team in effectively sequencing their work.
• Work closely with Product and Engineering leadership, Design, and related engineering teams to deliver cross-functional initiatives and ensure that technical decisions align with both business context and customer requirements.
• Clearly articulate complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences, including leadership stakeholders.
• Continuously elevate the technical standards through architecture reviews, code reviews, technical documentation, and sound engineering judgment in ambiguous situations.
• Guide and develop engineers on the team by providing constructive feedback, technical mentoring, and frameworks that enable others to achieve their best work.
• A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related discipline, or equivalent practical experience.
• More than 10 years of professional software engineering experience.
• Proficient in building backend services using at least one modern programming language, such as Python, Go, Java, TypeScript, or similar.
• Experienced in working with SQL and at least one relational database in a production environment.
• Familiar with building backend services on a cloud platform (AWS, GCP, or Azure), and knowledgeable about Docker and containerized applications.
