Principal Engineer – Power Systems

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California, +1 more state.

📋 Description

• Conduct feasibility studies for interconnections related to new generation, storage, demand, and transmission projects.

• Enhance the size and positioning of new generation, storage, demand, and transmission initiatives.

• Develop interconnection applications, which includes creating models for power flow, dynamic, and short circuit studies.

• Support the interconnection application process for generation, storage, demand, and transmission through the entire study procedure.

• Collaborate with the host transmission operator during the interconnection study phases.

• Analyze and evaluate interconnection study reports from the host transmission operator.

• Conduct general studies related to power systems.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical, Civil, or Mechanical Engineering.

• Over 12 years of experience in Electrical Engineering within the power sector.

• Proficiency in EMT Modeling using PSCAD for protection, control interactions, or IBR-focused studies.

• In-depth understanding of PSSE and/or PSLF power systems analysis tools, along with their related models and utilities.

• Familiarity with transmission systems in the Eastern Interconnection, ERCOT, and/or WECC.

• Extensive experience in conducting power system studies.

• Background in resource interconnection studies in the Eastern Interconnection, ERCOT, and/or WECC.
