This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Ohio.
• Offers Subject Matter Expert oversight and insights to bolster ATS’s business in crucial areas related to nuclear, such as SMRs, PWRs, and Fuel Fabrication.
• Leverages technical expertise in company and industry technologies to spearhead the development of effective solutions for critical challenges and extensive design issues.
• Engages in and, when necessary, takes the lead in creating innovative programs that address the demands of the nuclear industry.
• Shares specialized industry knowledge regarding the latest fuel manufacturing techniques, utilizing experience from current industry best practices and advanced technologies.
• Provides technical direction, advice, and support to engineering and design teams.
• Delivers engineering assistance to resolve issues and promote innovation, which includes offering conceptual and detailed designs, performing calculations and analyses, providing evaluations, and engaging in testing.
• Aids nuclear projects by participating in design reviews and offering solutions for complex challenges.
• Collaborates with Applications Engineering to develop concepts for new proposals.
• Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering Physics, Engineering Science, Electrical, Mechanical or Mechatronics Engineering, or a similar field.
• Over 10 years of experience in nuclear automated tooling design, focusing on fuel fabrication, development, and qualification of automated systems, custom machinery, or industrial equipment.
• Comprehensive understanding of nuclear tooling engineering and field challenges, along with precision engineering principles.
• Extensive knowledge and application of nuclear equipment quality standards (NQA-1).
• Strong grasp of machine design and construction, machine controls, structured problem-solving, statistical analysis, and precision engineering principles.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to lead or collaborate effectively within a multidisciplinary project team.
