This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Colombia.
• Define and shape the architecture of Masabi's platform, including the establishment of blueprints, standards, and best practices.
• Design and implement scalable, robust, and cost-effective services in alignment with the platform blueprint.
• Remain actively involved in coding and technical delivery, including conducting reviews and making targeted contributions.
• Identify and address complex challenges related to platform scalability, performance, resilience, and cost.
• Serve as a senior technical advisor to engineering teams, guiding and influencing technical decisions while ensuring adherence to Masabi's standards.
• Contribute to the planning and prioritization of the technical roadmap and platform enhancements.
• Assist with RFP estimation and technical scoping for complex projects.
• Create clear, high-quality technical documentation and architectural artifacts.
• Enhance the understanding and application of architecture across engineering and the broader organization.
• Participate in and help shape technical forums and working groups, focusing on areas such as API and architecture governance.
• Extensive experience in designing and evolving distributed systems and microservices architectures.
• Have worked at the Principal or Staff level, influencing technical direction across multiple teams or domains.
• Comfortable remaining hands-on, contributing to code, design, and delivery as necessary.
• Strong background with cloud platforms (AWS preferred) and modern infrastructure practices.
• Experience with systems where scalability, reliability, performance, and cost trade-offs are critical.
• Proven expertise in data architecture (e.g., data platforms, pipelines, warehousing, or data lakes).
• Ability to transform loosely defined business or technical challenges into clear, actionable technical solutions.
• Effective communication of complex ideas, producing structured documentation for both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Contributions to engineering standards, architectural patterns, or platform direction.
• Interest in or exposure to AI-enabled systems, with an understanding of the architectural implications in production.
