Principal Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Washington.

📋 Description

• Oversee the design and development of scalable, cloud-native applications utilizing TypeScript.

• Influence architectural decisions across various engineering teams and services.

• Construct highly available and high-performance APIs and backend systems.

• Collaborate with Product, Design, and Engineering leadership to establish technical strategy.

• Advocate for engineering best practices, including testing, observability, security, and code quality.

• Mentor senior engineers and act as a technical leader throughout the organization.

• Recognize technical debt and formulate long-term solutions to enhance scalability and developer productivity.

• Direct technical planning for significant cross-functional initiatives.

⛳️ Requirements

• 8+ years of professional experience in software engineering.

• Extensive background in creating production applications using TypeScript.

• Profound knowledge of modern backend architecture, distributed systems, and API design.

• Experience in designing and managing cloud-based applications, preferably with AWS.

• Strong comprehension of scalability, reliability, performance optimization, and system design.

• Proven ability to lead large technical initiatives without direct management oversight.

• Exceptional communication skills with the capability to influence technical direction across teams.

• Familiarity with Node.js and modern JavaScript frameworks is beneficial.

• Experience with Kubernetes, Docker, or containerized deployments is advantageous.

• Knowledge of event-driven architectures and message queues is a plus.

• Experience in high-growth SaaS companies is an asset.

• Familiarity with logistics, supply chain, or enterprise B2B software is beneficial.
