This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Minnesota.

📋 Description

• Develop and spearhead Thrivent’s approach to safeguarding against emerging AI-driven external threats.

• Shield the organization from adversarial AI capabilities, which encompass automated vulnerability detection and AI-fueled attack initiatives.

• Convert swiftly changing external threats into effective, scalable protective measures throughout the organization.

• Formulate the enterprise strategy for countering AI-enabled threats.

• Set up the architecture for detection, preventive measures, and response capabilities.

• Propel the integration of AI threat detection and control mechanisms into current cyber defense tools.

• Oversee the development of detection and response strategies for AI-induced attacks.

• Collaborate with Cyber Defense teams to implement detection protocols and response playbooks.

• Guide engineers and enhance AI security competencies within teams.

• Shape the perspective of senior leadership on AI risk posture and the essential investments needed.


⛳️ Requirements

• A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, or a related technical discipline, or equivalent professional experience.

• Over 10 years of experience in security engineering or a related field.

• Proven track record in defining and executing enterprise security strategies.

• Extensive knowledge of contemporary threats, attack methodologies, and detection engineering.

• Experience in threat modeling, incident response, and security operations.

• Demonstrated capability to influence both technical and executive stakeholders.

• Experience with AI/ML systems and their security implications (preferred).

• Knowledge of adversarial AI techniques and AI threat modeling (preferred).

• Familiarity with XDR, SIEM, and detection engineering practices (preferred).

• Understanding of AI security frameworks (such as OWASP LLM Top 10, MITRE ATLAS) (preferred).

• Experience in the financial services industry (preferred).
