Principal Engineer, AI

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Pennsylvania.

📋 Description

• Oversee the architecture, design, and implementation of scalable Generative AI and Machine Learning systems in production settings.

• Create comprehensive GenAI features, encompassing backend API services, model integration, model monitoring, evaluations, and deployments.

• Integrate and enhance LLMs tailored for specific business planning scenarios, including prompt engineering and RAG implementation.

• Develop conversational interfaces and agentic workflows that simplify complex planning tasks through natural language.

• Establish evaluation frameworks to assess and enhance the quality of GenAI features, focusing on accuracy, latency, and user satisfaction metrics.

• Design and create APIs that provide AI functionalities to Anaplan's platform as well as third-party integrations.

• Improve model inference pipelines for optimal performance, cost efficiency, and scalability in production environments.

• Set up monitoring, logging, and observability for GenAI systems to oversee usage, errors, and model behavior.

• Partner with data scientists to operationalize ML models and forecasting algorithms.

⛳️ Requirements

• Significant hands-on professional experience in Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, or related engineering fields.

• Comprehensive exposure to the model lifecycle development, with substantial experience in training and deploying ML models in production settings.

• Profound understanding of LLM APIs, prompt engineering, and conversational AI frameworks.

• Experience in fine-tuning LLMs for specific enterprise applications.

• Strong knowledge of MLOps and LLMOps, ensuring scalable, reliable, and monitorable model deployments.

• Familiarity with agentic frameworks and autonomous agent architectures.

• Proficient in Python and contemporary software development methodologies (testing, code review, CI/CD).

• Demonstrated success in delivering complex technical projects on schedule and with high quality.
