This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Virginia.
• Innovate and enhance machine learning models to drive financial advancement for customers.
• Design, develop, and implement machine learning models to address real-world challenges.
• Collaborate with business leaders and technical specialists to establish new data sources and refine modeling methodologies.
• Experience in creating, deploying, and managing supervised learning models within production systems for critical applications, along with a passion for serving as a technical mentor.
• Possesses a PhD in a quantitative discipline and at least 3 years of relevant experience in a related position.
• Holds a BS/MS in a quantitative field with a minimum of 7 years of experience in a related role.
• Shares best practices in software engineering and assists skilled, experienced data scientists with intricate technical challenges.
• Identifies as a generalist data scientist driven by practical solutions.
• Adheres to strong software engineering principles (test-driven development, code reviews, refactoring) and is familiar with the PyData stack (numpy, scikit-learn, pandas, etc.).
• Displays interest in a diverse array of ML solutions, including established tools (e.g., Spark, Kubernetes, Airflow, MLFlow), emerging technologies (such as Chalk, BentoML, or DVC), and the development of proprietary tools.
