This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United Kingdom.
• Serve as a reliable technical advisor throughout client engagements.
• Establish robust relationships with senior stakeholders, delivery leads, and engineering teams.
• Convert intricate technical concepts into understandable business value and delivery results.
• Assist clients in technical decision-making, platform strategy, and roadmap development.
• Oversee the design and execution of enterprise-scale Databricks solutions and contemporary data platforms.
• Provide architectural guidance for cloud-native data engineering projects.
• Set engineering standards, best practices, and scalable delivery methods.
• Enhance platform optimization, resilience, and performance improvements.
• Manage technical delivery across various client engagements in a consultancy setting.
• Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including Data Engineers, Architects, Product Owners, and client stakeholders.
• Aid in project planning, technical governance, and execution of delivery.
• Ensure the development of high-quality, scalable, and maintainable engineering solutions.
• Mentor and support engineering teams in modern data engineering methodologies.
• Lead technical problem-solving and incident resolution when necessary.
• Promote the adoption of engineering best practices, automation, and DevOps principles.
• Demonstrated experience as a Principal Data Engineer, Lead Data Engineer, or Data Architect in enterprise settings.
• Strong consultancy and client-facing expertise, preferably across various customer interactions.
• In-depth knowledge of Databricks, including architecture, optimization, and leading delivery teams.
• Significant experience in designing and implementing cloud-native data platforms in Azure and/or AWS environments.
• Advanced proficiency in PySpark, SparkSQL, and large-scale distributed data processing.
• Solid understanding of modern data architecture, ETL/ELT frameworks, and data modeling.
• Excellent SQL abilities and experience handling large-scale datasets.
• Strong grasp of data governance, security, and platform reliability principles.
• Exceptional communication, stakeholder management, and consulting skills.
• Capability to operate confidently in dynamic, delivery-oriented environments.
