Principal Data Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United Kingdom.

📋 Description

• Design, construct, and implement large-scale distributed systems and high-throughput data pipelines utilizing Go and cloud-native technologies.

• Drive system-wide architectural choices, emphasizing data flow, performance, and resilience. Actively engage with the codebase, ensuring high-quality contributions.

• Spearhead significant technical projects, minimize technical debt, and guarantee that the platform adheres to reliability and scalability SLAs. Advocate for best engineering practices, code quality, testing, and maintainability.

• Collaborate with product and engineering teams along with R&D management to outline the technical roadmap, evaluate architecture, and mentor junior engineers.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 8 years of backend engineering experience, including at least 3 years in architecting high-load systems or data pipelines within a production context.

• In-depth knowledge of distributed systems utilizing modern programming languages (Go, Java, Rust, or Python).

• Robust hands-on experience with relational and analytical databases, with a preference for Postgres and ClickHouse.

• Established experience with microservices, containers, and contemporary DevOps practices (Docker, Kubernetes, GitOps, CI/CD).

• Proven capability to blend hands-on coding with architectural leadership, showcasing strong skills in debugging, benchmarking, and performance optimization.
