Principal Data Architect

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Pennsylvania.

📋 Description

• Accountable for the design, governance, and optimization of the enterprise data architecture.

• Ensure that data is organized, integrated, secured, and governed for effective usability.

• Collaborate with executives, product leaders, data engineering, and data governance teams.

• Maintain ownership of essential architectural artifacts while mentoring architects and engineers.

• Establish the foundational components of the organization’s data ecosystem.

• Design data ingestion, transformation, storage, and distribution patterns.

• Assess and recommend data platform technologies.

• Work with governance teams to implement data ownership and compliance.

• Publish and uphold architecture patterns and decision records.

• Lead proof of concepts and reference implementations for modern data patterns.

• Collaborate with data scientists on machine learning feature engineering.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related discipline.

• 9–12 years of experience in data architecture, data engineering, or data modeling.

• 5–8 years of experience in architecting data structures and platforms within cloud environments.

• Extensive experience in conceptual, logical, and physical data modeling as well as data integration.

• Proven track record in enhancing data governance, quality, and platform modernization.

• Demonstrated success in designing data solutions for analytics, business intelligence, or AI/ML applications.

• Preferred certifications include CDMP, Data Modeling certifications, or cloud data certifications (Azure, AWS, GCP).

• Experience with TOGAF or a similar architecture framework is desired but not mandatory.
