This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Washington.
• Lead, mentor, and cultivate a team of toxicologists across various projects and locations.
• Ensure scientific accuracy, quality assurance, and defensibility in all outputs.
• Promote a collaborative, high-performance team culture that aligns with J.S. Held’s consulting standards.
• Provide oversight and direction on intricate, high-profile engagements.
• Act as a consulting and testifying expert in litigation, arbitration, and regulatory issues.
• Manage and deliver toxicological risk assessments, exposure evaluations, and product safety analyses.
• Analyze complex toxicological, epidemiological, and exposure data to produce clear, defensible conclusions.
• Assist with mass torts, environmental exposure cases, product liability issues, and occupational health conflicts.
• Develop, enhance, and sustain client relationships across legal, corporate, and regulatory domains.
• Lead business development initiatives, including identifying opportunities, defining scopes, pricing, and proposal creation.
• Promote the growth and expansion of toxicology services both within the U.S. and in international markets.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to incorporate toxicology into wider disputes, investigations, and compliance services.
• Contribute to thought leadership through publications, conference presentations, and client briefings.
• PhD in Toxicology, Pharmacology, Environmental Health, or a related field.
• Approximately 15+ years of professional experience, including substantial time in consulting and leadership positions.
• Proven experience serving as a testifying expert, including the preparation of expert reports and participation in depositions and/or trial testimony.
• Extensive knowledge in toxicological risk assessment, chemical exposure, and human health impact evaluation.
• Strong comprehension of global regulatory frameworks (e.g., REACH, CLP, EPA, OSHA, and similar regulations).
• Established seller-doer history, covering business development, client relationship management, and revenue generation.
• Outstanding communication skills, capable of conveying complex scientific concepts to legal, technical, and executive audiences.
