Principal Cloud Security Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Portugal.

📋 Description

• Collaborate with DevOps and CI/CD engineers along with our Architects team to ensure that security best practices are integrated throughout our cloud infrastructure.

• Establish and promote cloud security principles, standards, and reference architectures across the organization.

• Leverage expertise in security architecture to assist engineers in constructing and securely operating products and services from inception.

• Evaluate, design, and execute security processes and controls to satisfy security, compliance, and audit requirements.

• Conduct proactive research to detect emerging threats and attack vectors.

• Work alongside engineering teams to incorporate shift-left security practices throughout the software development lifecycle.

• Deploy and manage cloud and Kubernetes security posture management tools to continuously monitor and mitigate risks associated with containerized workloads.

⛳️ Requirements

• Demonstrated experience with AWS and AWS security services in a secure production setting, including IAM, Config, KMS, Secrets Manager, CloudWatch, CloudTrail, and GuardDuty.

• Proven track record of working closely with engineering teams and assisting them in adopting shift-left security practices.

• Familiarity with infrastructure as code (AWS CDK, CloudFormation, or Terraform), version control, and CI tools such as GitLab and GitLab CI.

• Practical experience with Kubernetes (AWS EKS), containers (Docker, AWS ECS), K8s admission controllers, and Supply Chain Security.

• Strong understanding of internet and computer network protocols, such as TCP/IP, TLS, and VPN.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
