This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Illinois.
• Define and consistently enhance the complete requirements lifecycle, which encompasses elicitation, analysis, specification, validation, approval, baselining, and change management.
• Create and uphold requirements processes within the Quality Management System (QMS).
• Conduct structured interviews, workshops, and working sessions with business stakeholders, customers, and subject matter experts (SMEs).
• Develop templates and establish quality standards for requirements documentation while ensuring consistency across teams.
• Write user stories, functional requirements specifications, configuration specifications, use case documents, and interface/data requirements.
• Maintain a requirements traceability matrix that links business needs, requirements, design, test cases, and releases.
• Facilitate requirements review boards and walkthroughs, managing formal stakeholder sign-offs.
• Oversee requirements change control, which includes impact analysis, approval routing, versioning, and communication.
• Identify gaps, conflicts, and ambiguities, ensuring that requirements are testable, clear, and prioritized.
• Ensure that requirements documentation complies with applicable audit and regulatory standards in software environments.
• A minimum of 7 years of experience in business analysis, product management, or requirements engineering.
• At least 2 years of experience managing a requirements process.
• Proficiency in structured elicitation techniques, including interviews, workshops, use cases, and prototyping.
• Excellent written communication skills.
• Capability to convert ambiguous stakeholder inputs into clear, testable requirements.
• Familiarity with requirements management or ALM tools such as Jira/Confluence, Azure DevOps, Jama Connect, ReqView, IBM DOORS, or similar.
• Knowledge of traditional SRS-style and agile epics/stories/acceptance criteria formats.
• Experience in building or maintaining a requirements traceability matrix.
• Practical experience in writing user stories, functional requirements specifications, and configuration specifications.
• Prior hands-on software development experience sufficient to read code and technical designs, assessing feasibility and complexity.
• Preferred: Certification in business analysis such as CBAP, PMI-PBA, or similar.
• Preferred: Experience in regulated healthcare software, including 21 CFR 820, IEC 62304, SOC 2, and HIPAA.
• Preferred: Exposure to API-first or platform products.
