This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Take charge of the platform's architecture, evolution, and growth while scaling across Enterprise Platform, Scientific Search, AI/ML Ops, Developer Platform, Developer Productivity, Lakehouse Platform, Partner Integrations, and Cloud Infrastructure.
• Establish the technical vision, make decisions that traverse team boundaries, and address architectural gaps proactively to mitigate business risks.
• Supervise the enterprise Platform, Scientific Search, AI/ML Ops, Developer Productivity, Lakehouse Platform, and Cloud Infrastructure.
• Ensure operational excellence through a well-defined O11y architecture, with every production service having established, monitored, and managed SLOs.
• Attain a strong product-market fit and traction while enhancing industry partnerships and the developer experience.
• 12+ years of experience in software engineering, with a minimum of 5 years at a staff or principal level within a SaaS platform or data infrastructure environment.
• Comprehensive architectural ownership in at least one of the two fingerprint profiles mentioned above, alongside significant exposure to the other. Coverage of most of the eight domains is expected.
• Proven track record in managing enterprise authentication and authorization systems at scale: SAML, OIDC, and fine-grained RBAC across a multi-tenant SaaS product. You have been the go-to person when authentication issues arise, not just the designer of the system.
• Practical experience with AI/ML serving infrastructure: you have constructed and managed model inference pipelines under production loads.
• Expertise in search architecture: you have designed and operated a search platform capable of handling various query types (keyword, semantic, or hybrid) across large structured or semi-structured datasets.
• Hands-on experience with large-scale data lake architectures: Delta Lake or Apache Iceberg, schema evolution patterns, partition pruning, and the trade-offs between query performance and storage costs.
• Proficient in AWS infrastructure with Kubernetes or ECS. You can analyze a cost anomaly report, trace it back to its root cause, and take corrective action within a week.
• Ability to articulate and justify architecture decisions through RFCs, trade-off documents, and design reviews.
• Excellent cross-team communication skills. You can produce a document that aligns stakeholders without requiring a follow-up meeting for clarification.
• Comfortable operating across strategy, architecture, and operations within the same week: setting a multi-year architectural vision and reviewing a runbook gap both fall within your responsibilities.
• Competitive compensation with equity
• Unlimited PTO
• Company-paid Life Insurance, LTD/STD
• 401(k)
