Principal Architect

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California, +3 more states.

📋 Description

• Design and create large-scale distributed software platforms.

• Develop production-quality code for essential services, APIs, platform components, and reference implementations.

• Architect cloud-native systems utilizing Kubernetes, containers, networking, load balancing, observability, CI/CD, and contemporary deployment patterns.

• Construct secure, scalable, resilient, and observable software tailored for enterprise-grade environments.

• Formulate API-first and headless platform capabilities for applications, integrations, automation, and AI agents.

• Execute security patterns for identity, authorization, API access, tenant isolation, service communication, policy enforcement, and auditability.

• Design and implement AI-native and agentic system functionalities, including secure tool invocation, model integration, context management, retrieval, and workflow automation.

• Assess and utilize open-source, commercial, cloud-native, and AI-assisted development technologies.

• Troubleshoot, optimize, fortify, and scale intricate systems in genuine production environments.

⛳️ Requirements

• Extensive experience in the design, construction, deployment, and operation of large-scale distributed systems.

• Strong hands-on software engineering skills with current production coding capabilities.

• Experience with cloud-native platforms, SaaS products, headless/API-first systems, or enterprise platform software.

• In-depth knowledge of APIs, services, data flows, eventing, orchestration, caching, resilience, security, and production operations.

• Proficient in Kubernetes, containers, cloud infrastructure, networking, CI/CD, observability, and deployment automation.

• Strong understanding of enterprise security and integration requirements.

• Familiarity with AI-native and agentic software patterns.

• Proven ability to leverage modern AI-assisted development tools to enhance engineering velocity.

• Capability to operate across architecture, code, infrastructure, security, deployment, and runtime behavior.
