Principal – Agentic Product Design Engineer

📋 Description

• Define the future of AI-enabled product development.

• Collaborate with Product, Design, Engineering, and Marketing teams to identify and prioritize significant opportunities where AI can enhance workflows, customer experiences, and product value delivery.

• Contribute to shaping the organization's strategy for AI-assisted workflows, intelligent tools, and AI-powered user experiences.

• Influence roadmaps, investment choices, and operational models that facilitate AI adoption across teams.

• Develop shared AI capabilities and infrastructure.

• Create reusable infrastructure, frameworks, APIs, and tools that empower teams to consistently and efficiently develop AI-powered experiences.

• Build internal platforms and workflows that enhance product development with AI capabilities.

• Set scalable foundations that assist teams in transitioning from experimentation to adoption.

• Evolve experience systems for the AI era.

• Work alongside design system engineers and designers to establish patterns, standards, and interaction models for AI-powered experiences.

• Ensure that AI experiences remain coherent, accessible, trustworthy, and usable across products.

• Investigate how agents, copilots, and adaptive interfaces can serve as reusable capabilities across the product ecosystem.

• Prototype and validate emerging concepts.

• Create prototypes and proof-of-concepts that examine new interaction models, intelligent workflows, and agent-driven experiences.

• Assess emerging technologies and approaches, including LLMs, agent frameworks, retrieval systems, orchestration tools, and evaluation methods.

• Utilize experimentation to guide long-term platform and product strategy.

• Transform successful prototypes into production-ready capabilities, collaborating with teams to deliver tangible improvements to products, workflows, and user experiences.

• Identify and implement high-impact enhancements across design system tools, AI-enabled workflows, and product experiences, balancing long-term platform investments with immediate user and developer requirements.

• Empower teams and promote adoption.

• Mentor engineers and designers working at the intersection of UX, systems thinking, and AI.

• Establish best practices for responsible AI development, governance, and human-in-the-loop systems.

• Assist teams in adopting new tools, workflows, and capabilities through coaching, collaboration, and shared standards.

⛳️ Requirements

• 8+ years of experience in software engineering, design engineering, design systems, creative technology, UX engineering, or related disciplines.

• Proficient frontend engineering skills with modern web technologies and application architecture.

• Experience in building AI-powered applications utilizing LLM APIs and orchestration frameworks.

• Proven ability to quickly prototype and think in systems.

• Strong grasp of interaction design, product thinking, and user experience principles.

• Experience in building developer platforms, internal tools, or workflow systems.

• Capability to navigate ambiguity and operate effectively in 0-to-1 environments.

• Excellent communication and cross-functional collaboration skills.

• A systems-oriented approach with robust product intuition.
