Pricing Manager

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Germany.

📋 Description

• Accountable for the ongoing development and quality assurance of the integrated cost model (electricity/gas).

• Modeling procurement expenses (forward and spot curves), shaping/profiling costs, balancing energy, and technical losses.

• Complete representation of regulated price elements (network charges, levies, surcharges, taxes), including regular updates.

• Integration of CO₂ costs and Guarantees of Origin into the calculation framework.

• Maintenance and validation of central parameters (calendars, price levels, metering and capacity bands, load profiles) as the definitive source of truth.

• Calculation of competitive and risk-adequate offers (fixed-price, index-linked, and pass-through products).

• Management and upkeep of price lists, price windows, and margin guardrails.

• Preparation of complex offer calculations (individual customers, bundled offers, tenders) along with profitability assessments.

• Execution of post-calculations and margin analyses (contribution margin DB1/DB2) as well as sensitivity analyses (load, price, FX, levies).

• Ensuring a transparent and efficient approval workflow.

• Close collaboration with Portfolio/Trading on hedge strategies, quote validity, and price windows.

• Consideration of risk limits, margin-at-risk, and execution of scenario and stress tests.

• Active monitoring of win rates, margin leakage, and price deviations against defined guardrails.

• Acting as a sparring partner for risk controlling in the evaluation and management of commercial risks.

• Further development of the pricing tool/CPQ system and continuous enhancement of the pricing architecture.

• Ensuring high data quality across CRM, ERP, and BI systems.

• Automation of calculation and approval processes to reduce turnaround time.

• Forecasting of load profiles and competitive benchmarking for strategic price positioning.

• Documentation and continuous improvement of the pricing methodology including an audit trail.

• Ensuring transparent and audit-proof approval processes.

• Compliance with regulatory requirements and internal guidelines in the pricing and offer process.

• Preparation of regular performance reports (hit rate, margins, TAT, forecast accuracy, segment performance).

• Analysis of pricing performance and derivation of data-driven recommendations for action.

• Proactive support to Sales, Product Management, and Executive Management with strong commercial insights.


⛳️ Requirements

• Completed degree in Business Administration, Industrial Engineering, (Energy) Economics, Mathematics, or a similar quantitative discipline.

• A minimum of 3–5 years of relevant professional experience in the energy sector, preferably in pricing, portfolio/trading management, risk controlling, or energy management.

• Strong knowledge of the European electricity and gas markets (forward and spot markets), such as EEX/EPEX and THE/TTF.

• Proficient in managing load profiles, structuring, and procurement models.

• Familiarity with balancing energy, network charges, levies, and the regulatory environment.

• Understanding of market price formation, hedging strategies, and risk parameters.

• Excellent quantitative and analytical abilities with a strong affinity for modeling and numbers.

• Very strong Excel skills (including complex models, Power Query); experience with BI tools like Power BI or Tableau.

• SQL skills and basic knowledge of Python (e.g., for data analysis or automation) are advantageous.

• Ability to structure large data sets and convert them into solid decision-making foundations.
