This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Kentucky, +1 more state.
• Act as a technical authority and trusted consultant for State Government and Higher Education clients across Kentucky.
• Establish connections with network engineers, architects, IT leaders, and executive management.
• Collaborate with Account Managers to create account strategies and drive opportunities through to closure and adoption.
• Lead technical discovery processes and convert customer needs into solution architectures utilizing the HPE Networking portfolio.
• Illustrate how AI-native networking and self-driving networks can streamline operations, enhance user experience, fortify security, and boost resiliency.
• Conduct customer presentations, demonstrations, whiteboarding sessions, workshops, Proof of Concept projects, and technical assessments.
• Position HPE Networking solutions against competitor offerings and convey technical differentiation and customer value.
• Work alongside channel partners and internal experts on RFPs and intricate technical projects.
• Continuously enhance knowledge in HPE Aruba Networking, HPE Juniper Networking, industry trends, and emerging network architectures.
• Applicants should be located in Kentucky or in reasonable proximity to the territory.
• Candidates from nearby regions in Ohio or Indiana may also be taken into consideration.
• Willingness to travel up to 60% within the assigned territory.
• Over 5 years of experience in pre-sales engineering, systems engineering, network architecture, technical consulting, network engineering, or a similar technical position.
• Strong knowledge of Layer 2 and Layer 3 networking principles.
• Experience with enterprise routing, switching, wireless, and network security technologies.
• Background in designing, implementing, supporting, or positioning enterprise networking solutions.
• Competence in leading technical discovery and translating requirements into actionable solution architectures and business outcomes.
• Excellent customer-facing communication, presentation, demonstration, and whiteboarding abilities.
• Preferred knowledge in cloud-managed networking, SD-WAN, data center networking, network automation, and AI-driven operations.
• Strong analytical skills and intellectual curiosity.
• Capability to work independently while collaborating with sales teams, customers, partners, and internal technical resources.
• Customer-centric approach with a strong sense of ownership, accountability, urgency, and follow-through.
• Experience working with Higher Education, State Government, or other public-sector clients is advantageous but not mandatory.
• Industry certifications from Aruba, Juniper, HPE, Cisco, or other relevant networking vendors are preferred.
• A Bachelor's degree is preferred; equivalent professional experience will be taken into account.
