This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Kentucky, +1 more state.
• Act as a technical guide and trusted consultant for State Government and Higher Education clients across Kentucky.
• Establish connections with network engineers, architects, IT executives, and leadership teams.
• Collaborate with Account Managers to create account strategies and drive opportunities to closure and adoption.
• Lead technical assessments and convert customer needs into solution architectures utilizing the HPE Networking portfolio.
• Demonstrate how AI-native networking and self-driving networks can optimize operations, enhance user experience, bolster security, and improve resiliency.
• Provide customer presentations, demonstrations, whiteboarding sessions, workshops, Proof of Concept projects, and technical evaluations.
• Position HPE Networking solutions against competing products and convey technical differentiation and customer value.
• Work in partnership with channel partners and internal specialists on RFPs and complex technical projects.
• Continuously expand knowledge in HPE Aruba Networking, HPE Juniper Networking, industry developments, and innovative network architectures.
• Applicants should be located in Kentucky or in close proximity to the territory.
• Candidates from nearby regions of Ohio or Indiana may also be considered.
• Willingness to travel up to 60% within the designated territory.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in pre-sales engineering, systems engineering, network architecture, technical consulting, network engineering, or a similar technical position.
• Solid understanding of Layer 2 and Layer 3 networking principles.
• Familiarity with enterprise routing, switching, wireless, and network security technologies.
• Experience in designing, implementing, supporting, or promoting enterprise networking solutions.
• Capability to lead technical assessments and convert requirements into actionable solution architectures and business results.
• Excellent customer-facing communication, presentation, demonstration, and whiteboarding abilities.
• Preferred knowledge of cloud-managed networking, SD-WAN, data center networking, network automation, and AI-driven operations.
• Strong problem-solving abilities and a keen intellectual curiosity.
• Ability to work autonomously while collaborating with sales teams, customers, partners, and internal technical resources.
• Customer-centric approach with a strong sense of ownership, accountability, urgency, and follow-through.
• Experience with Higher Education, State Government, or other public-sector clients is advantageous but not mandatory.
• Industry certifications from Aruba, Juniper, HPE, Cisco, or other pertinent networking vendors are preferred.
• Bachelor’s degree is preferred; equivalent professional experience will be taken into account.
