
Presales Solutions Architect – Mendix Private Platform

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Massachusetts.
• Facilitate technical discovery sessions to comprehend customer challenges, infrastructure limitations, security needs, and modernization efforts.
• Create comprehensive solution and deployment architectures for the Private Mendix Platform on customer-managed Kubernetes or OpenShift, encompassing cluster topology, PostgreSQL databases, file storage, container registries, ingress/TLS, and namespace strategies.
• Assist customers in navigating security and compliance discussions, including FIPS-compliant encryption, secret management (AWS Secrets Manager, Azure Key Vault, HashiCorp Vault), SSO/IdP integration (OIDC and SAML), and control frameworks such as NIST 800-53.
• Conduct technical workshops, architecture sessions, and executive briefings; act as a trusted advisor throughout the sales process.
• Provide engaging business and technical demonstrations of Mendix application development and the Private Mendix Platform portal, covering project management, private Marketplace, CI/CD, and governance functionalities.
• Establish proof-of-concept and pilot environments by installing and configuring the Mendix Operator, Private Cloud License Manager (PCLM), and optional components like webhooks (Svix), the Build agent, PDF document generation, and Maia AI-assisted app creation.
• Develop prototype Mendix applications that illustrate integration with enterprise systems, APIs, and databases within the customer's infrastructure.
• Showcase best practices for application governance, scalability, security, and lifecycle management in self-managed deployments.
• Assist customers in planning the operational aspects of ownership, including platform upgrades, component management, licensing through PCLM, backup, and environment strategies.
• Outline the roadmap from disconnected (air-gapped) to connected mode deployments when applicable.
• Empower partners and customer platform teams regarding installation, configuration, and day-2 operations.
• Collaborate with Account Executives on opportunity strategy, technical qualification, and deal progression.
• Respond to RFPs, RFIs, and security/technical questionnaires, often with a focus on deep infrastructure and compliance considerations.
• Support marketing events, webinars, conferences, and partner enablement sessions.
• Convey field insights to product and engineering teams to influence roadmap priorities.
• Over 5 years of experience in presales, solution architecture, platform engineering, or technical consulting in a customer-facing capacity.
• Practical experience with Kubernetes and/or OpenShift, including deployments, Helm, operators, ingress, storage, registries, and troubleshooting using kubectl.
• Familiarity with the enterprise stack, including PostgreSQL, object/file storage (S3, Azure Blob), container registries, TLS/certificates, and networking.
• Competence in leading security and compliance discussions with infrastructure, security, and platform teams, as well as business stakeholders.
• Strong communication and storytelling skills—capable of translating in-depth technical capabilities into business value for both practitioner and executive audiences.
• Ability to independently create and deliver demos, installations, and prototypes within deal timelines.
• Willingness to travel up to 30% within the United States.
