This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Oversee large, intricate datasets sourced from various channels, ensuring accuracy, cleanliness, and organization for analysis purposes. Conduct thorough data wrangling tasks to address inconsistencies and prepare data for predictive models and analysis.
• Apply advanced data transformation methods (such as feature engineering, aggregation, normalization) to enhance data for specific machine learning, optimization, and statistical models.
• Engage in the development of diverse predictive models, including classification, regression, and clustering, utilizing algorithms like decision trees, random forests, or neural networks.
• Aid in the optimization of models through hyperparameter tuning and performance evaluation using cross-validation, ensuring compliance with business and technical specifications.
• Create comprehensive analytical solutions, from data acquisition to model deployment, ensuring alignment with the client's business goals, such as enhancing lending strategies or underwriting decisions.
• Confirm that analytical outcomes are in line with key performance indicators (KPIs) and contribute to measurable results.
• Participate in the internal evolution of new data science methodologies that meet the changing demands related to underwriting for our financial institution clients.
• Convey complex analytical results clearly and effectively to internal stakeholders and external clients, assisting them in understanding predictive model outcomes and making data-driven decisions.
• Offer insights and contribute to the ongoing enhancement of the data science workflow, ensuring that projects are completed efficiently and accurately.
• A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Statistics, Data Science, Analytics, Mathematics, Economics, Finance, or a related discipline is preferred.
• More than 4 years of experience in building and validating predictive credit risk models, ideally within the financial services or lending sector.
• Demonstrated experience in model development and deployment, including testing, validation, and monitoring.
• Advanced proficiency in programming languages such as Python for model development and analysis, utilizing Pandas, Scikit-learn, and other frameworks for data handling, statistical analysis, optimization, and machine learning.
• High-level expertise in SQL for data querying and manipulation.
• Familiarity with AWS for training, building, and deploying models is preferred, along with experience in MLOps.
• Strong analytical skills and attention to detail when analyzing data and validating models.
• Exceptional communication abilities to explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
• Capability to work autonomously and collaboratively within a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
• Strong project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
