This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Spearhead the technical success throughout the entire pre-sales cycle: discovery, qualification, solution design, PoC delivery, and technical closure, collaborating with the field team while steering the technical narrative.
• Conduct impactful discovery calls that reveal the underlying issues beyond the stated problems, pinpointing where a customer's automation stack is fundamentally compromised at the data layer.
• Create and develop customized PoCs that illustrate how Infrahub addresses genuine infrastructure challenges, providing tailored demonstrations rather than generic showcases.
• Cultivate the technical relationship with key customer stakeholders, ranging from hands-on engineers to Directors of Infrastructure, adjusting your message to maintain credibility across all levels.
• Qualify prospects efficiently: identify when a prospect is not a suitable fit, disqualify clearly, and ensure the pipeline remains healthy rather than cluttered with noise.
• Collaborate with technology alliances: engage with network vendors, systems integrators, and automation tooling companies to craft joint solutions and broaden our influence within the ecosystem.
• Act as a liaison between the field and product teams: relay structured customer insights back to engineering and product teams, transforming customer challenges into roadmap priorities.
• Foster the technical community through the creation of demo content, blog posts, reference architectures, and participation in conferences, establishing OpsMill as the leading authority in infrastructure automation.
• Over 7 years of experience in pre-sales, solutions engineering, or field engineering roles—quota-contributing or quota-carrying positions where your technical contributions directly impacted commercial results.
• Profound expertise in infrastructure automation: you have successfully built and managed production automation for networks, cloud, or data center environments using tools like Ansible, Nornir, Terraform, or similar technologies.
• Strong proficiency in Python: capable of writing clean automation code, reviewing customer implementations, and developing PoC integrations that withstand scrutiny.
• Demonstrated discovery and qualification skills: adept at asking the right questions to uncover the core issues and knowing when to disengage from deals unlikely to close.
• Excellent interpersonal skills: engineers trust your expertise, while executives appreciate your ability to simplify complex concepts.
• Comfortable operating without a predefined playbook: you have been among the first or second pre-sales engineers in a market, establishing processes and navigating challenges independently.
• AI-native: you have progressed beyond basic interactions with ChatGPT and are now engaged in specification-driven automation code development.
• Based in the US or Canada to align with the team and customers' time zones.
• Comprehensive health, dental, and vision insurance.
• Flexible paid time off.
• Home office setup allowance.
• Budget for professional development.
• Equity in a rapidly growing commercial open-source company.
• Biannual offsite events in desirable locations.
