Pre-sale Solution Architect

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United Kingdom.

📋 Description

• Create and document comprehensive data and AI solutions utilizing Azure, Databricks, and related technologies.

• Convert business and technical requirements into clear architectural designs suitable for delivery teams.

• Proactively identify technical risks, manage them within the project risk register, and ensure their mitigation and resolution.

• Influence and direct the design of intelligent data platform initiatives using Lakehouse architectures, facilitating data availability for reporting, AI, and analytics.

• Engage early in client discussions to assess opportunities and suggest the most effective approach.

• Gather requirements, assess current states, workloads, governance limitations, and desired outcomes.

• Manage the technical aspects of RFP and RFI submissions, proposals, architectural diagrams, and Statements of Work.

• Establish robust relationships with clients, becoming a valued technical advisor.

• Simplify complex technical ideas into accessible language and clear business outcomes for senior business leaders, technology leads, and internal sales teams.

⛳️ Requirements

• Demonstrated experience in technical pre-sales, designing cloud data architectures, with hands-on consulting expertise in Azure and Databricks.

• Familiarity with data engineering, ML/AI engineering, data governance, and platform design.

• Experience in designing and presenting scalable, secure, and economical solutions using established patterns and standards.

• Proven track record in conducting discovery sessions, demos, POCs, and RFP responses for intricate data and AI projects.

• Strong commercial acumen, capable of shaping Statements of Work, estimating project sizes, and correlating technical decisions with business value, total cost of ownership, and time to value.

• Exceptional communication and presentation skills for engaging with both technical and non-technical audiences at all levels, including C-suite executives.

• Confident in leading demos, technical presentations, client workshops, and negotiations.

• Prior consulting experience is essential, with an understanding of the distinction between working for a single business and across multiple organizations.

• Databricks Professional certification is mandatory, or equivalent knowledge demonstrated through practical project experience.

• Azure certifications (such as Azure Data Engineer Associate or Azure Solutions Architect Expert) are highly advantageous.
