Pre-Certification Coordinator I – Department of Medicine

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Initiates and oversees the pre-determination process.

• Engages with insurance providers to verify benefits and obtain pre-certifications.

• Alerts the financial counselor regarding pre-payments for un-coded services.

• Manages the daily surgery and procedure schedule for department faculty.

• Maintains communication with physicians about their schedules.

• Keeps a detailed log of all ongoing pre-certifications.

• Informs the hospital's utilization and billing department about pre-certification updates.

• Records the receipt of pre-certifications from insurance companies.

• Executes other assigned duties as necessary.

⛳️ Requirements

• High school diploma or an equivalent certification, or a combination of education and/or experience.

• At least 2 years of experience in a medical office environment.

• Proficient in communication, external and internal customer relations, insurance processes, interpersonal communication, managed care, medical insurance coding, organization, and working with third-party payers.
