This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Initiate and oversee the pre-determination process

• Communicate with insurance providers for benefit verification and pre-certification of both surgical and non-surgical procedures

• Inform the financial counselor for the pre-payment of services that lack coding

• Provide necessary documentation during the pre-certification process

• Manage the daily surgery and procedure schedule for departmental faculty

• Liaise with physicians and their assistants regarding scheduling matters

• Keep a written record of pre-certifications that are in progress

• Notify the hospital's utilization and billing department about pre-certification

• Document the receipt of pre-certification from insurance companies

• Execute additional duties as assigned


⛳️ Requirements

• High school diploma or an equivalent high school certification, or a combination of education and/or experience

• A minimum of 2 years of experience in a medical office environment

• No specific certification or professional license is required

• An associate degree is preferred

• Certified Professional Coder (CPC) certification is preferred

• Registered Health Information Technician (RHIT) certification is preferred

• Capability to perform essential job functions effectively

• Successful completion of required pre-employment screening, as applicable
