Practice Director

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.

📋 Description

• Take charge of the technical vision, excellence in delivery, and business development strategy for our enterprise Shopify Plus practice.

• Lead a global team of architects, engineers, and solution consultants—defining how we design, build, and scale critical commerce platforms for our largest clients.

• Possess extensive, hands-on knowledge of the Shopify Plus ecosystem and the broader technology stack, including ERP integrations, enterprise search, customer data platforms, and headless commerce patterns.

• Convert expertise into successful proposals, trusted client relationships, and a world-class team.

• Supervise technical delivery across global, cross-functional teams providing enterprise Shopify Plus solutions, ensuring quality, performance, and client satisfaction at scale.

• Develop governance frameworks, risk mitigation strategies, and delivery KPIs tailored to the speed and complexity of commerce platform engagements.

• Serve as a technical escalation point and actively remove obstacles for delivery teams.

• Build, retain, and nurture a high-performing team of Shopify architects, engineers, and solution leads—establishing clear expectations, creating growth pathways, and promoting a culture of technical excellence.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 10 years of experience in enterprise technology leadership within a consulting, systems integration, or agency setting—with a minimum of 3–4 years specifically in Shopify Plus or a similar enterprise commerce platform.

• Extensive, hands-on expertise in the Shopify Plus platform: Shopify Functions, Checkout Extensibility, Markets Pro, B2B, headless/composable commerce architectures, and the Shopify app ecosystem.

• Strong understanding of the enterprise commerce technology stack surrounding Shopify Plus—including ERP integrations (SAP, Oracle, NetSuite), enterprise search (Elasticsearch, Algolia), CDPs (Segment, mParticle, Salesforce Data Cloud), PIM, OMS, and payment platforms.

• Demonstrated experience in participating in or leading sales pursuits, proposals, and client-facing solution conversations—comfortable owning a technical narrative in a competitive environment.

• Proven ability to build, lead, and grow distributed technical teams—hiring, mentoring, retaining senior talent, and fostering cultures of technical excellence.

• Outstanding communication and stakeholder management skills; capable of engaging fluently with executive, technical, and commercial audiences.
