This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Provide Protection and Control Engineering and Consulting services for Transmission, Distribution, and Industrial sectors across the US and Canada.
• Develop and implement intricate protection solutions for generation, transmission, and distribution systems catering to electrical utilities and industrial clients.
• Conduct engineering studies and analyses including short circuit analysis, load flow studies, ground grid design, lightning protection assessments, insulation coordination, arc-flash evaluations, and protective device coordination.
• Generate relay setting files that encompass the programming of Protection and Control Elements, Control Logic, and Communication settings.
• Evaluate tailored Protection and Control solutions both in-house and at client sites.
• Supply factory acceptance test plans and testing services to authenticate protection designs during customer reviews.
• Engage in project meetings with project managers and clients to discuss technical matters.
• A Bachelor’s degree or higher in Electrical or Computer Engineering.
• At least five (5) years of experience in the design, study, and analysis of electric power systems.
• Must possess or be eligible for a Professional Engineer license in at least one state.
• Proficient knowledge of power system steady-state and transient analysis, fault studies, and protection theory.
• Familiar with symmetrical components.
• Willingness to collaborate with the team to review and validate engineering drawings and studies as required, with appropriate training and supervision.
• Willingness to represent the company and apply for necessary permits to perform engineering services.
• Practical experience with study software and power system tools such as Mathcad, MATLAB, ASPEN, CAPE, SKM, CDEGS, WinIGS, or ETAP.
• Understanding of substation communication protocols including IEC 61850, DNP, and Modbus.
• Knowledge or field experience in system commissioning and testing, including the use of Doble / Omicron test equipment or similar.
• Ethical and professional demeanor in interactions with team members and clients.
• Technical capabilities to execute projects, identify opportunities, and draft SOW proposals.
• Excellent communication skills, including technical writing and presentation abilities.
• Strong learning aptitude, proven teamwork capabilities, and a customer-centric focus.
• Professional engineering accreditation is not mandatory but would be a valuable asset.
