This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Colorado, +1 more state.
β’ Oversee the entire lifecycle of assigned power system study and design projects, including scope definition, scheduling, budgeting, and client communication.
β’ Conduct and verify arc flash, short circuit, and coordination studies utilizing ETAP, SKM Power*Tools, and EasyPower.
β’ Supervise the activities of junior engineers involved in your projects, ensuring the technical accuracy of their models, drawings, and reports.
β’ Lead data collection initiatives in the field at industrial and commercial locations, including data gathering while energized, adhering to NFPA 70E protocols (15 to 25 percent travel required).
β’ Draft and review project documentation such as equipment specifications, installation guidelines, and bid proposals.
β’ Handle change orders, scope modifications, and client purchase order requirements for ongoing projects.
β’ Coordinate with subcontractors and vendors, including electrical contractors, NETA testing agencies, and equipment suppliers, while following up on vendor drawings and submissions.
β’ Offer construction-phase assistance: respond to RFIs, review submissions, and address field queries regarding issued designs.
β’ Communicate findings and recommendations directly to client maintenance, engineering, and EHS personnel.
β’ Assist in the development of proposals by providing scoping insights and effort estimations.
β’ Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from an ABET-accredited institution.
β’ A minimum of 5 years managing electrical or power-related projects, with practical experience in industrial or commercial power systems.
β’ Proven project management skills: ability to handle multiple concurrent deadlines, maintain direct client relations, manage subcontractors, and ensure deliverable quality with minimal supervision.
β’ Possession of a PE license, or actively pursuing one, is highly advantageous (we cover exam and licensure expenses and support multi-state licensure).
β’ Familiarity with ETAP, SKM Power*Tools, or EasyPower is beneficial; knowledge of relevant codes and standards such as NEC, NFPA 70E, NFPA 70B, OSHA, IEEE, and ANSI is preferred.
β’ Comfortable working in industrial settings and engaging in client-facing site activities.
β’ Must be eligible to work in the U.S. and capable of passing client background checks.
