Power BI Developer

• This position is remote.

• McBride Consulting is looking for a PowerBI Developer to work with a banking client based in Northern VA.

• The ideal candidate should possess a robust understanding and experience in data analysis, creating intuitive dashboards, and developing semantic models.

• The Developer will assist in the front end of the Microsoft BI stack, closely collaborating with a Data Engineer to convert curated data into valuable insights that inform business decisions.

• You will be responsible for creating and enhancing Power BI reports, dashboards, and semantic models.

• Collaborating with business stakeholders to gather and comprehend reporting needs.

• Working in conjunction with the Data Engineering team within Microsoft Fabric.

• Developing AI-driven reporting experiences through Copilot Studio and Microsoft Fabric functionalities.

• Enhancing reporting performance, governance, and self-service analytics throughout the organization.

• Utilizing Excel to create detailed and coherent reports that meet extensive data requirements using Microsoft PowerBI.

• Assisting in project management tasks and cooperating with the project manager to ensure adherence to contractual obligations.

⛳️ Requirements

• Experience in data/BI development, preferably in financial services or with banking clients.

• Proficiency in Power BI report and dashboard development is essential, including publishing and workspace management.

• Expertise in data modeling (fact/dimension/star schema) for optimal reporting performance.

• Knowledge of DAX for KPIs, measures, and analytical logic.

• Strong SQL skills and experience with data integration from various sources (Oracle, SQL Server, etc.).

• Proficiency in ETL/data transformation to cleanse and standardize data.

• Ability to create data visualizations for both operational and executive audiences.

• Familiarity with the Payments/ACH domain is preferred.

• Experience with Agile and Scrum methodologies.
