Power BI Developer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.

📋 Description

• Design, develop, and enhance critical business dashboards and semantic models.

• Convert raw data into trustworthy, actionable insights.

• Oversee the complete BI lifecycle, encompassing requirements gathering, data profiling, deployment, support, and continuous optimization.

• Establish and document standards, data definitions, and KPIs to ensure data quality, lineage, and compliance with governance policies.

• Construct star and snowflake models using Power BI.

• Develop robust and consistent measures utilizing DAX.

• Implement governance and security protocols.

• Integrate with enterprise data sources and collaborate on ETL processes with Data Engineering.

• Facilitate adoption and self-service enablement through training sessions, documentation, and office hours.

• Monitor usage and performance, making ongoing enhancements as needed.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 5 years of experience in creating Power BI solutions in production settings.

• Proficient in DAX and data modeling techniques.

• Practical experience with Power BI Desktop, Power BI Service, Power Query (M), Deployment Pipelines, and Gateway configuration.

• Strong SQL skills for querying, validation, and performance evaluation.

• Familiarity with enterprise BI practices, including version control (Git), CI/CD for Power BI (ALM Toolkit), release management, and documentation.

• Working knowledge of the Azure analytics stack (one or more): Azure SQL, Synapse, Data Factory, Databricks, Delta Lake.

• Capability to translate business inquiries into analytical designs; excellent communication skills with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
