BI Specialist

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Portugal.

📋 Description

• Create, develop, and sustain BI solutions (including reports, dashboards, and data models) that aid in operational and strategic decision-making.

• Convert business requirements into scalable data models and impactful visualizations.

• Construct and enhance ETL/ELT processes to guarantee dependable and timely data availability.

• Collaborate closely with Data Engineers to enhance data quality, performance, and architecture.

• Work with business stakeholders to establish KPIs and ensure uniform metric definitions.

• Refine existing reporting solutions, emphasizing usability, performance, and maintainability.

• Assist in data governance practices and uphold documentation standards.

• Diagnose data-related issues and proactively recognize opportunities for enhancement.

⛳️ Requirements

• A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Analytics, Engineering, or a related discipline.

• Over 3 years of experience as a BI Developer, Data Analyst, Analytics Engineer, or in a comparable position.

• Proficient in SQL and relational databases.

• Experience in creating interactive dashboards using tools like Power BI, Tableau, or Looker.

• Strong grasp of data modeling principles (such as star schema, snowflake schema, and dimensional modeling).

• Experience in designing and maintaining ETL/ELT pipelines.

• Knowledge of cloud data platforms like Azure, AWS, or Google Cloud is advantageous.

• Understanding of data warehousing principles and best practices.

• Familiarity with version control systems (e.g., Git) is a plus.

• Experience in Agile work environments is preferred.

• Exceptional organizational and time management capabilities.

• Proficient in English, both written and spoken.
