Power BI Developer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.

📋 Description

• Oversee the entire BI lifecycle: gathering requirements, profiling data, modeling, developing DAX/Power Query, creating visualizations, testing, deploying, and providing support.

• Construct star and snowflake schemas within Power BI; design datasets that perform efficiently (Import, DirectQuery, Composite).

• Develop robust and consistent DAX measures; enhance performance using tools like DAX Studio and Tabular Editor.

• Create clear, maintainable reports and reusable models that adhere to UX best practices and accessibility standards.

• Establish governance and security measures: RLS/OLS, sensitivity labels.

• Integrate various enterprise data sources (Azure SQL, Synapse, Databricks, SQL Server, Snowflake) and work collaboratively with data engineering on ETL processes.

• Facilitate user adoption and empowerment through training, documentation, and assistance sessions.

• Track and analyze usage and performance, suggesting ongoing enhancements.

⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of 5 years of experience in developing Power BI solutions within production environments.

• Proficient in DAX and data modeling techniques.

• Practical experience with Power BI Desktop, Power BI Service, and Power Query (M).

• Strong SQL capabilities for querying, validation, and performance assessment.

• Familiarity with enterprise BI methodologies: version control (Git), CI/CD practices for Power BI (ALM Toolkit).

• Working knowledge of the Azure analytics ecosystem: Azure SQL, Synapse, Data Factory, Databricks, Delta Lake.

• Capability to translate business inquiries into analytical frameworks.
