Post Graduate Supervisor – Animation and Motion Design

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in South Africa.

📋 Description

• Conduct regular one-on-one or small group supervision sessions to assist students in navigating their postgraduate projects until final submission.

• Deliver constructive, timely, and comprehensive written feedback on proposals, progress submissions, and final project outcomes.

• Evaluate and assign grades to postgraduate submissions in accordance with institutional policy timelines and assessment criteria.

• Uphold academic integrity throughout the assessment process.

• Track student progress and proactively identify those in need of additional academic support or intervention.

• Attend postgraduate coordinator and program meetings as necessary.

• Provide feedback to enhance supervision practices and program offerings.

• Keep precise administrative records concerning supervision activities, student progress, and assessments in compliance with institutional requirements.

⛳️ Requirements

• A PhD (NQF Level 10) or a Master's degree (NQF Level 9) in Animation, Digital Arts in Creative Media is essential.

• At least 5 years of relevant industry experience in animation, motion design, digital arts, or a related creative media field.

• A minimum of 2 years of experience in postgraduate supervision, lecturing, or teaching within higher education.

• Proven experience in supervising or mentoring independent creative or research projects at honors or postgraduate levels.

• Experience in online facilitation or supervision is advantageous.

• Proficient in using a Learning Management System and the MS Office suite.

• Knowledge of relevant curriculum, assessment, and postgraduate research practices.

• Strong administrative and organizational skills.

• Passionate about creative media education and innovation.

• Positive, patient, and supportive in engaging with students.

• Organized, efficient, and detail-oriented in executing tasks.

• Strong communicator with excellent interpersonal skills.
