Post Closing Specialist

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Virginia.

📋 Description

• Oversees the management of incoming trailing documents, ensuring clear and precise documentation regarding the status and handling of loan files.

• Conducts data entry tasks and generates reports within the Loan Origination System.

• Engages in weekly follow-ups and evaluations with settlement companies and attorneys’ offices to track down missing or outstanding documents.

• Maintains a high level of knowledge concerning all mortgage loan documentation necessary to resolve post-closing deficiencies, including but not limited to trailing documents, recorded security instruments, and final title policies.

• Collaborates with investors and internal teams to address defects identified in the mortgage/Deed of Trust or Final Title Policy.

• Audits and ships closed loan files to investors.

• Responds to suspense conditions received from investors in a timely manner.

• Executes additional duties as assigned.

⛳️ Requirements

• Minimum of 3 years’ experience in mortgage operations.

• Experience in Processing or Underwriting is preferred.

• Prior experience with loan documents and title work is essential.

• Strong working knowledge of Encompass, DU, and LP software is preferred.

• Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.

• Capable of delivering a high degree of accuracy in a fast-paced work setting.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
