Portuguese VRI/OPI Interpreter

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Mozambique.

📋 Description

• Respond to calls in a professional manner, adhering to the Interpreter's code of conduct.

• Always be prepared to take notes throughout the call.

• Familiarize yourself with the specific vocabulary relevant to the interpreter's industry, particularly healthcare and medical fields.

• Deliver all messages accurately and in full, without adding, omitting, or altering content.

• Provide exceptional customer service during the interpretation process.

• Enable effective communication between Limited English Proficient individuals and clients by delivering accurate and comprehensive interpretations of messages.

• Uphold professional standards of practice.

• Participate in internal professional training programs.

• Demonstrate a willingness to acquire new professional certifications.

• Communicate and report to your team leader regularly.

• Adhere to dress code requirements for video remote interpreting.

⛳️ Requirements

• Proficient in the source language (English) and a native speaker of the target languages "Brazilian AND European Portuguese."

• A minimum of 1 year of experience in telephone interpretation with a reputable interpretation company.

• Strong understanding of medical terminology.

• Familiarity with legal terminology is an advantage.

• International certifications in the healthcare sector are beneficial (e.g., PICSI, ALTA, HIPAA, etc.).

• High school diploma in your native language.

• High emotional intelligence and an appreciation for diverse cultures.

• Excellent communication, listening, note-taking, and memory retention abilities.
