Portuguese to French OPI/VRI Interpreter

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants anywhere in the world.

📋 Description

• Handle calls in a professional manner, adhering to the Interpreter's code of conduct.

• Remain prepared to take notes during each call.

• Familiarize yourself with the specific vocabulary relevant to the industry you are interpreting for, particularly in healthcare and medical contexts.

• Accurately and completely convey all messages, ensuring no additions, omissions, or substitutions.

• Deliver the highest standard of customer service throughout the interpreting process.

• Facilitate communication between Limited French Proficient individuals and clients by providing precise and complete interpretation of messages.

• Adhere to established standards of practice.

• Participate in internal professional training sessions.

• Show enthusiasm for obtaining new professional certifications.

• Communicate and provide updates to your team leader.

• Follow the dress code guidelines for video remote interpreting.

⛳️ Requirements

• Proficient in the source language (French) and a native speaker of the target language (Portuguese).

• A minimum of 1 year of experience in over-the-telephone interpretation with a reputable interpretation company.

• Strong knowledge of medical terminology.

• Familiarity with legal terminology is advantageous.

• International certifications in the healthcare sector are a plus (such as PICSI, ALTA, HIPAA, etc.).

• High school diploma in your native language.

• Strong emotional intelligence and sensitivity to diverse cultures.

• Excellent communication, listening, note-taking, and memory retention abilities.
