Portuguese Medical Interpreter

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Mozambique.

📋 Description

• Respond to calls in a professional manner, adhering to the Interpreter's code of conduct.

• Always be ready to take notes during calls.

• Familiarize yourself with the specific vocabulary related to the industry in which you are interpreting, particularly in healthcare and medical contexts.

• Accurately and completely render all messages without adding, omitting, or substituting content.

• Deliver the highest level of customer service during interpretation sessions.

• Facilitate communication between clients with limited English proficiency and the service provider by providing precise and complete interpretations of messages.

• Adhere to established standards of practice.

• Participate in internal professional training opportunities.

• Show enthusiasm for obtaining new professional certifications.

• Maintain communication and provide reports to your team leader.

• Follow the dress code requirements for video remote interpreting.

⛳️ Requirements

• Proficient in the source language (English) and a native speaker of the target languages, "Brazilian and European Portuguese."

• At least 1 year of experience in telephone interpretation with a reputable interpretation company.

• Strong understanding of medical terminology.

• Familiarity with legal terminology is a plus.

• Possession of international certifications in the healthcare field is advantageous (e.g., PICSI, ALTA, HIPAA, etc.).

• A high school diploma in your native language.

• High emotional intelligence and an appreciation for diverse cultures.

• Strong communication, listening, note-taking, and memory retention abilities.
