This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Italy.
• Assume complete responsibility for overseeing, managing, and reporting on a real estate investment portfolio valued at approximately $1 billion.
• Serve as the main point of accountability for all relationships with third-party managed funds.
• Critically analyze monthly reporting packages and information related to the funds.
• Proactively question and challenge the underwriting assumptions put forth by fund managers and operating partners.
• Review and scrutinize budgets, liquidity forecasts, cash flow projections, and capital needs prepared by local operating partners.
• Conduct thorough monthly and quarterly variance analyses comparing actual performance to budgeted figures.
• Carry out structured site visits to active development projects.
• Act as the primary daily contact for fund managers, asset managers, property managers, and advisors.
• Generate high-quality investment committee reports on a monthly, quarterly, and as-needed basis.
• At least 8–12 years of progressive experience in real estate investment management, asset management, or a related field.
• Proven experience in managing or overseeing a real estate portfolio of considerable scale — preferably exceeding €500M in total value.
• A solid track record of working with both closed-end and open-end real estate fund structures.
• Experience in managing SPV structures, direct investments, and third-party operating partners.
• Demonstrated capability to oversee and challenge external fund managers and operators effectively.
• Previous experience in hospitality real estate is highly preferred.
• Background in participating and contributing to investment committees, board meetings, or advisory committees.
• Degree-level qualification in Finance, Economics, Real Estate, Business Administration, or a relevant discipline.
• Proficient in financial modeling at an expert level.
• Strong grasp of real estate operating economics, budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis.
