This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.
• Assist in achieving the short and long-term strategic financial goals of the Portfolio by providing financial data and operational insights, concentrating on top-down and Portfolio level initiatives, and intervening as necessary.
• Ensure timely and precise delivery of financial results to ParentCo and serve as the primary contact for the financial operations within the Portfolio.
• Facilitate the integration of new businesses and aid in the training and onboarding of new management and finance teams.
• Oversee the Financial Reporting & Analysis function at the Portfolio level, collecting and presenting business performance accurately and promptly to both internal and external stakeholders.
• Assist in coordinating external and internal audit processes.
• Recognize high-performing businesses and compile operational insights that can be disseminated throughout the Portfolio.
• Identify best practices in systems and processes and aid in their evaluation and implementation.
• Manage the significant commercial contracting process, identifying and executing improvements to create a value-added and efficient workflow.
• Develop a high level of credibility with stakeholders, cultivating essential relationships both internally and externally.
• Lead the Quarterly Strategic Review process across the Portfolio.
• Track acquisition performance against investment theses to ensure key objectives are achieved, formalizing reviews and accountabilities within the Portfolio (including 6-month Post Acquisition Review, Full Post Acquisition Review, Investment Memo vs. actual results, IRR analysis, etc.).
• Ensure that learning from integration and Post Acquisition Reviews is incorporated into acquisition strategies through sharing, development of knowledge bases, playbooks, etc.
• Offer guidance on Portfolio level matters such as management fees, bonus methodologies, and team structures.
• Conduct ad-hoc analysis and project work to support the organization's transformation and scalability as needed.
• Demonstrated experience as a Finance Director or in a comparable senior financial leadership role within a complex, multi-entity, acquisitive organization.
• Strong expertise in M&A, capital allocation, and transaction execution.
• Extensive technical knowledge in accounting, financial reporting, and internal controls (CPA, CA, or equivalent is highly preferred).
• Background in software, technology, or asset-light businesses that utilize recurring revenue models.
