This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Pennsylvania.
• Conduct research, analyze, and compose reports on policy issues related to terrorism, extremism, hate, and other threats affecting Hindu Americans.
• Leverage software tools and assess sources to ensure top-notch research quality.
• Locate, gather, input, and organize data from various databases, information sources, survey responses, and other data points; ensure data integrity; and refine existing data for consistency and precision.
• Create data visualizations tailored for various audiences.
• Generate reports, charts, and/or graphs for briefs and presentations that simplify complex subjects for general audiences.
• Offer research, writing, analysis, and proofreading assistance to the Policy Department for the development of policy briefs, fact sheets, reports, articles, speeches, presentations, and other documentation.
• Provide additional logistical support as required for the Policy Research Department.
• A bachelor's degree in social sciences or humanities, including but not limited to International Relations, Security Studies, Global Studies, Political Science, Policy, Government, Sociology, Legal Studies, Religion, History, Humanities, South Asian Studies, or a related field (mandatory).
• A master's degree or current enrollment in a master's program in a relevant area, or 2 years of experience in a position or internship focused on research and writing related to international issues, politics, and/or religions.
• Exceptional research, writing, and analytical skills, including the capability to write for both professional and general audiences.
• Proficient in effective communication, both verbal and written.
• A strong desire to make meaningful contributions during meetings and to project development.
• Self-motivated individual with the ability to complete tasks independently with minimal supervision and within deadlines.
• Well-organized and capable of managing multiple projects concurrently.
• Maintains a professional demeanor in virtual and/or in-person meetings with external stakeholders.
• Works collaboratively in a team environment to accomplish departmental objectives.
• Proficient in tools such as Google Workspace, Asana, Slack, Zoom, Excel, PowerPoint, and database management systems.
• Experience in data entry and data management.
• Familiarity with South Asia, India, Indic languages, or the Hindu diaspora is preferred but not mandatory.
