This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Assist the Policy Director and the DMEE team in educating and supporting commissioners, organizing regional and national educational forums, and developing and implementing state-specific strategies for decision-maker education and engagement.
• Establish and nurture relationships with key decision-makers and a diverse range of stakeholders, including advocacy organizations, industry specialists, and agency personnel.
• Design and spearhead educational initiatives across a portfolio of Central states, which includes evaluating and creating opportunities for knowledge enhancement and support.
• Aid DMEE’s Engagement team with tasks related to the Mid-America Regulatory Conference, encompassing decision-maker meetings, event organization, and conference participation.
• Perform comprehensive research on regulatory frameworks, energy technologies, and policies to guide strategic initiatives and educational content creation.
• Construct, organize, and manage project management tools and systems while maintaining and structuring information to enhance program knowledge management and retention.
• Compile reports and updates regarding program progress, outcomes, and key metrics for both internal and external stakeholders.
• A Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience; a Master’s degree is advantageous.
• 4-6 years of professional experience, with a portion of that experience in policy and/or market analysis, policy advocacy, or government relations.
• Knowledge of the advanced energy sector, clean energy advocacy community, and/or state government or utilities.
• Proven ability to swiftly learn and navigate complex technical topics.
• Strong interpersonal skills are essential; candidates must be adept at developing and sustaining productive relationships with regulators and other key stakeholders, including policymakers, advocacy organizations, industry, and subject matter experts.
• Self-motivated independent worker with an entrepreneurial mindset; candidates should be very comfortable collaborating with colleagues in a remote setting, initiating new projects, managing their own schedules, and meeting high expectations.
• Experience handling confidential information and intelligence.
• Capability to collaborate across teams and functions to enhance DMEE’s impact throughout the organization.
• Exceptional listening and communication skills, both verbal and written, are required—this includes public speaking and facilitating discussions.
• Strong attention to detail and proven copy editing abilities in reports, presentations, and conference materials such as panel descriptions.
• Willingness to travel as necessary (up to 10%).
