Policy Coach – Director

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Delivering one-on-one coaching to Mento members through virtual sessions utilizing the Mento Platform and Tools

• Engaging in continuous training sessions to enhance coaching skills and capabilities

• Interacting with members via your Mento email or through chat in the Mento App between sessions

• Being a vital part of the Mento coaching community by sharing coaching tools and insights — contributing to the enhancement of our coaching practices and fulfilling our mission of empowering individuals to thrive in careers they love

• Acting as an ambassador of the Mento community with kindness, respect, and empathy

⛳️ Requirements

• A director, vice president, or senior policy leader with 15+ years of experience in public policy, product policy, government affairs, trust & safety, privacy, or related fields

• Significant policy leadership experience is highly valued — coaching certifications are appreciated but not mandatory

• Proven experience in developing and implementing policy frameworks at scale, including enforcement, and impacting product and business decisions through cross-functional collaboration with product, legal, engineering, and executive teams

• Experience working with regulators, policymakers, or lobbyists, contributing to regulatory strategy and external engagement

• Demonstrated ability to lead policy initiatives amidst rapid change, global complexity, and regulatory uncertainty, while balancing business objectives with risk, safety, and compliance

• Background in AI policy, platform governance, content moderation, privacy, or emerging technology regulation is a strong advantage

• A desire to transform leadership experience into impactful coaching skills

• A passion for aiding individuals in advancing their careers to build fulfilling professional lives

• A self-aware individual with high emotional intelligence who is dedicated to creating a safe space for others to feel vulnerable

• Comfortable operating in a dynamic startup environment

• Willing to commit a minimum of 12+ hours per month to coaching at Mento for the next 24+ months

• Previous experience with technology companies is a plus
