This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Colorado, +3 more states.
• Travel across retail locations in the continental US to set up, configure, and commission POS hardware and software.
• Conduct installations during pre-opening periods to ensure all systems are operational with minimal disruption to business operations.
• Dismantle the existing POS system and organize components into boxes for disposal by the retailer.
• Set up and connect Scotch POS terminals, cash drawers, receipt printers, barcode scanners, payment/card readers, customer-facing displays, and associated peripherals.
• Manage cabling installation, routing, and coordination with on-site networking and electrical teams to ensure seamless connectivity.
• Install and update POS software, apply necessary configurations, and ensure integration with back-office, payment, and inventory systems.
• Conduct comprehensive testing of all hardware and software, troubleshoot and resolve on-site issues, and confirm full functionality prior to sign-off.
• Provide basic orientation or training for store staff on the installed systems as needed.
• Complete installation checklists, documentation, and reporting accurately and punctually.
• Communicate status updates, obstacles, and completion details to project managers, store contacts, and the deployment team.
• Maintain, transport, and account for tools, equipment, and inventory while traveling.
• Comply with all safety, security, and brand standards while working on-site.
• Organize travel arrangements for all installations (including hotel, flight, and rental car).
• A minimum of 1 year of experience in installing, deploying, or supporting Point of Sale (POS) systems, retail technology, or comparable field-based technology solutions.
• Experience in performing onsite hardware installations, device configuration, cabling, testing, and providing go-live support in customer environments.
• Demonstrated ability and willingness to travel up to 100% of the time throughout the continental US, including overnight stays and extended periods away from home.
• Comfortable with a highly variable schedule, frequent flights, long drives between locations, and being away from home for consecutive days.
• Hands-on technical aptitude with hardware setup, cabling, and troubleshooting skills.
• Basic understanding of networking concepts (IP addressing, routers/switches, and connectivity troubleshooting).
• Strong problem-solving abilities and capability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Excellent reliability, time management, and follow-through under pressure of deadlines.
• Clear and professional communication skills for interactions with store personnel and remote teams.
• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Based in or willing to relocate to Denver, Nashville, Atlanta, NYC, or Boston.
• Valid driver's license and clean driving record necessary.
• Ability to travel by air and rent vehicles.
• Capability to lift, carry, and position equipment weighing up to 50 lbs.
• Willingness to stand, walk, bend, kneel, crouch, and reach for extended periods during installations.
