PLC Software Engineer – Full Remote

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Netherlands.

📋 Description

• You will be responsible for the development and programming of PLC (Programmable Logic Controller) software for industrial automation systems utilized in energy and industrial sectors.

• This position encompasses the entire software lifecycle — from design and development to testing, validation, documentation, and reliability analysis — within a collaborative engineering team that prioritizes code reviews, R&D initiatives, and ongoing enhancements.

⛳️ Requirements

• A diploma or degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical discipline.

• Fundamental technical knowledge of industrial software development, hardware/software interfacing, testing, and debugging.

• Basic familiarity with IEC 61131-3 PLC programming languages, or a strong desire to learn.

• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with the capacity to adapt to evolving environments and shifting priorities.

• Proficiency in creating and maintaining technical documentation related to PLC programming.

• Comfort in collaborating within a team environment — engaging in code reviews and providing and receiving constructive feedback.

• Ability to apply engineering methods to design, modify, and refine PLC programs.

• Openness to participating in R&D studies, prototyping, and preparing technical reports.

• Capability to integrate reliability analysis into PLC code design and testing procedures.

• Proficient in English at a B2 level or higher — necessary for working with an international engineering team.

• Willingness to travel periodically to the Netherlands (approximately one week every two months).
