Principal Software Architect

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United Kingdom.

📋 Description

• Design, develop, and implement scalable, production-ready services directly within the core Testlio software platform.

• Create clear architectural guidelines and reference frameworks that delineate domain boundaries, allowing our current codebase to be transformed into modular services.

• Collaborate with the Director of Engineering to carry out frontend framework unification, enhancing operational performance and visibility.

• Ensure system effectiveness and compliance by centering design around security, cost-effectiveness, and ISO 27001 standards.

• Incorporate secure AI/LLM methodologies into customer-facing interfaces, establishing stringent operational guidelines and failure protocols for our Quality API.

• Counsel executive, product, and engineering teams on significant technical decisions, converting business requirements into streamlined technical strategies.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 15 years of practical software development experience in building cloud-native, mission-critical platforms.

• Advanced expertise in distributed system architectures, data modeling, event-driven design, and database technologies (both Relational and NoSQL).

• Documented success in designing and transitioning application infrastructures, particularly from monolithic architectures to modular services.

• Extensive experience in establishing enterprise-grade patterns in AWS, focusing on high availability, cost efficiency, and secure infrastructure.

• Strong knowledge of contemporary full-stack coding environments, including front-end web frameworks, scripting languages, and CI/CD workflows.

• Hands-on, production-level experience deploying AI/ML or LLM-based solutions with a focus on observable and reliable automation practices.

• Proficiency in English with exceptional written and verbal communication abilities, particularly when explaining complex architectural concepts to business executives.

• Capability to work effectively as an individual contributor in dynamic, uncertain environments, demonstrating proactive problem-solving ownership.

• Strong focus on collaboration and alignment, adept at guiding distributed engineering teams and technical colleagues without direct authority.

• Excellent analytical skills, balancing a broad long-term technology vision with practical short-term implementation challenges.

• Natural affinity for remote-first work, effectively communicating and documenting technical decisions asynchronously across various time zones.
