Player Scout Manager – Women’s College

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Oversee all elements of U.S. Soccer’s Women’s College Talent ID Plan.

• Build relationships with key NCAA programs and their members.

• Design, implement, and refine a strategic scouting plan for the women’s college sector.

• Collaborate with Talent ID, Women’s National Team Coaches, performance teams, scouts, and scouting networks.

• Identify, track, and evaluate U-17 through U-23 players.

• Enhance and expand the College Scouting Network.

• Act as Player Scout Lead for a designated Youth National Team (YNT) age group.

• Oversee online technology platforms for reporting, tracking, and longitudinal monitoring.

• Utilize data and video clips to create player profiles.

• Manage player identification, tracking, and weekly scouting tasks across NCAA Division 1.

• Maintain college depth charts and collaborate on age-group depth charts.

• Generate, present, review, and cross-verify written and video player reports.

• Recommend players for YNT camps through ongoing and collaborative selection processes.

• Attend key YNT age-group camp days, NCAA games, and events in person.

• Develop, manage, and nurture a network of independent/part-time scouts within the NCAA landscape.

• Delegate scouts to games, training sessions, and annual events.

• Evaluate scout reports for quality assurance, offer feedback, and organize mentoring.

• Establish supplementary networks with members, colleges, Talent Reporters, and informants.

• Support scouting efforts for Behind the Badge, underserved communities, and outreach initiatives.

• Continuously assess players using reports, documents, and logbooks.

• Create video clips for player evaluation and reviews.

• Employ data and statistics for quantitative player assessment.

• Assist in the development of internal W-NCAA data dashboards and scouting systems.

• Maintain communication with both internal and external stakeholders.

• Complete and annually evaluate a personal development plan.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent qualification.

• U.S. Soccer Talent Scout License or equivalent, or the ability to successfully complete year 1 if not currently licensed.

• Capability to lead, plan, and collaborate effectively.

• Strong interpersonal skills with an aptitude for relationship-building.

• Enthusiasm for scouting and a background in a college and/or high-performance environment.

• Growth-oriented mindset.

• In-depth knowledge of the NCAA landscape and its pathways.

• Understanding of talent identification and development processes, structures, theories, and practices.

• Soccer experience and a sufficient understanding of the game to evaluate player actions and behaviors.

• Proficiency in analysis, reporting, video clipping, data handling, and scouting technology platforms such as Sportscode, Wyscout, Hudl, and Statsbomb.

• Ability to thrive in fast-paced and demanding environments.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Outlook.

• Exceptional verbal and written communication skills paired with a professional demeanor.

• Willingness and ability to travel and work throughout the year.

• Flexibility to work non-traditional hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.

• Participation in assigned U.S. Soccer Talent Scout Courses and herLENS workshops.

• Professional playing experience is preferred.

• Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish is preferred.
